It started as Zimmer's Poultry Farm. The old postcard says it plainly: Zimmer's Poultry Farm, Gallupville, New York — long white barns under a Schoharie County hillside. That barn still stands, and today it keeps company with the machines we look after.
The ZF mark started on the farm. Before there was a workshop, there was Zimmer Farm — and its brand: an interlocked Z and F, stamped on everything that left the property. It meant the work was done right.
Zimmer Motoren Werke carries that same mark forward. The ZF was redrawn as a clean roundel, and the shop takes its visual cues from the classic German motor works of the era — black and white, honest, built around the machine.
The focus is narrow on purpose: air-cooled engines, carburetors and early fuel injection — the period when engines were mechanical, serviceable and built to be understood. That is the work we do, and the only work we do.
